Novaria. Drayden never cared much for this city…whenever he was here it always seem to feel overcrowded and grey. Then again with all its industrialism, Carrestra probably wasn’t much different, but the Toreka did have a sense of pride for his home city he supposed. Regardless, Drayden wasn’t here for sightseeing. In fact he was here on a dangerous mission, one that would test the very limits a man could possibly endure.
Drayden was here for shopping.
A rare part was needed at the mechanic shop he worked at, and apparently his employer had been informed that such a piece could in fact be found in this particular city. Not trusting such a rare and expensive item to simply be shipped to Carrestra, Drayden was sent here to deliver the item personally.
Basically, I’m a glorified errand boy…” he thought glumly to himself as his eyes lazily glanced around at the various vendors and shops that lined the streets. He figured he should probably get something for his older sister who lived in this city…she would likely murder Drayden if she found out he was in town and didn’t come say hello at the very least. Which means more shopping….” Drayden shoved his hands in his pockets, resigning himself to a few hours of pushing through crowded streets in search of both this rare part for work as well a gift that would please his overbearing sister.
The young Toreka was wearing one of his common outfits today as he walked through the streets, wearing a dark red shirt that was layered over a high-collared blue striped shirt partially visible underneath. The shirt was short sleeved, but separate grey-colored sleeves covered most of the young man’s forearms. This he wore along with long grey pants and a pair of durable black boots on his feet. Today his short blonde hair was mostly covered by a small brown cap, along with riding goggles which were strapped around his head that rested on top of the hat. In fact, the only thing that would give Drayden away for being a Toreka in his current outfit was his lavender eyes, looking at his surroundings somewhat dully and not at all excited about the day’s prospects.
Drayden was always in somewhat of a sour mood when he was taken away from his work. He had new ideas, new designs he wanted to test but instead he was in Novaria playing delivery boy. He’d get over it soon enough though…a trip to some local bar tonight would certainly be in order. For now though he had shopping to get done as Drayden looked around for a shop that might catch his eye.

Over bearing crowds, people in front, behind, and on either side of you. She had finished her rounds, her rounds being checking on her ferrets...Now she was here in the market place picking up supplies for her office. SINCE she was done her rounds, she had decided she'd deck herself in her full military splendor...she found people gave her a wider berth that way. How she hated crowds...always made things take longer then they should. Her hair was half pulled up with a silver pin, the rest cascaded down past her waist. Why was her hair this long? Well she had an aversion to sharp things near her head. She wore a military black trench coat with shiny emerald green trim. A silver watch with a chain hung across her chest, the watch bearing the symbol of the Novarian Intelligence department. White gloves adored her hands and white knee high boots covered her feet. On her waist hung a large sword, with a winged hilt with a large blue gem in the middle.
Now besides for the military garb, there was on other reason why people gave her a wide berth. That would be her races fearsome yet beautiful wings. Usually her races wings were ornate ornaments upon ones back, usually much smaller in size then the ones resting upon her back. Larger wings in the Fraya world marked a military life, Rowans wings were so large when folded the tips almost brushed the ground. The underside of her wings were a snowy white, while the backs were a light grey; the tips fading in to black. They were fearsome powerful wings, strong from use. A mar was upon one of the wings, a scar stretching across her left wing. Besides her wings, the icy stare helped move people out of her way as well as anything else.
She was so use to people moving out of her way, and wasn't paying attention to where she was going. Rowan, proud and poise...walked right into a back. She blinked and stepped back, looking at what the heck she just walked into.
"My apologies"
Well she apologized...she side stepped and walked around the man who was oddly stopped in the flow of the crowd. The shop she needed was only a few more blocks away.

Drayden tried to remember the directions he was given… turn left down one street then take a right after he reached a certain shop…and yup soon enough he was lost. Now Drayden felt as though he had just about as good a sense of direction as anybody, however he was discovering that his boss, on the other hand, was not so skilled at giving good directions.
Guess I should have just gotten him to circle the place on a map… Drayden thought as he stopped for a moment to try and figure out where he was. It was then that he felt himself bumped into, stumbling a step forward as he turned to see who it was.
”Ah…no my bad,” Drayden spoke, the last part in a bit of surprise at the unexpected appearance of the woman who bumped into him. He stared at her for a moment as she began to walk away, when he realized that she might actually be of some help to him.
”Actually miss,” Drayden spoke taking a few strides forward to keep her from walking off just yet. ”I was wondering if you might help me with something,” as he spoke, that sour look from earlier was replaced with a charming smile.
”You see I’m not from around here, and I’m afraid I’m a bit lost. I’m looking for a shop that should be around here, its…” He paused before removing a slip a paper from his pocket. ”Here.”
He showed the military Fraya the slip which had the name and address of a high class shop which sold valuable parts along with rare trinkets and the like. Drayden didn’t know if she would actually know the location of the shop but she seemed the most likely person to ask.

A well groomed eye brow arched up as the man called out to her; her hallow gaze turned back towards the confused young man. She just stared at him with a blank face as he explained that he was not from around here and how he was looking for some shop. As he spoke she averted her attention to her watch; she flipped it opened and checked the time. Fairly uninterested in what the man was asking. It was already later then she had planned....she had wanted to be back and heading towards her weekend at the springs at this point. But duty called...
The grey gaze traveled downwards as a slip of paper was shown to her, she took the piece of paper and examined the name...the name alone was all that she needed to know which shop he seeked. She looked back up at him and handed him the paper.
"Your quite a bit away from it; any shops selling anything of high value would be closer to the fairchild mansion. Your in the lower districts; you'll find only paper goods, cheap textiles, and bad beer down this end....what brings you to come here looking for this shop in particular? Pardon me for saying but you do not seem the type to afford anything from that store..."

Drayden waited for a response as he observed the woman briefly taking out her watch. Just from the outside he could tell it was of good quality, and there was a part of him that had the slight urge to take it a part. Although he preferred working with larger machines, the inner workings of clocks were interesting in their own right.
Based on her demeanor and expression though, it seemed to Drayden that the woman appeared somewhat bored and impatient with him for interrupting her. If she wasn’t military, he might have had a mind to tease the woman a bit…but getting in trouble with the military in a foreign city did not sound like a fun time to the Toreka.
He gave an exasperated sigh when she told him he was nowhere near where he needed to be.
”Aw you’re kidding…” he grumbled, taking back the slip of paper and rubbing the back of his head with the other hand. ”Guess I’m not as good with directions as I thought I was.”
When she mentioned Drayden not being able to afford such a shop, the young man crossed his arms and cocked his head to the side.
”I suppose I should be offended at such a comment. I make good money at my job I’ll have you know…but technically you are right. I’m here on behalf of my employer who wants something from that shop.” Drayden gave another examination of the woman before forming a small grin.
”And what, may I ask, is a lady such as yourself doing in these ‘lower districts’. You’re not exactly inconspicuous in your military uniform with the large wings and all. Work I suppose?” Drayden couldn’t help but push a little. He was curious…whether or not she would be offended at such a comment about her wings or be prideful and boast about them. His comment was innocent enough anyway, and technically fair after the one about his income.

Rowan wasn't surprised in the least when the boy took offense to her income comment, but really the ones who shopped around that district were usually Aristocrats; and the very well off. But it got the answer to her question, he was here on behalf of his employer...so an errand boy he was...Just a visitor without a plan to stay; which meant his business was no longer concerning. She could drop it and move on...that was exactly what she was going to do when the chatty boy asked yet another question.
"You are correct in assuming its for my work; my office needs more supplies....paper, ink, a new damn printer...which apparently invisible monkeys broke...."
She had been very displeased to walk into the intelligence headquarters apparently after and office party; to find the place a disaster AND multiple computers and printers mysteriously dead. She had already had the computers repaired...same with the other printers...except one that was beyond all hope. Lets just say the ones responsible...aren't having the best of times at the moment.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and put in that order and get back to the fairchild mansion."

Drayden couldn’t help but chuckle a bit at the woman’s comment about the invisible monkeys.
”Yes, I hear those can be quite a pain.” Honestly he was somewhat surprised she had answered his question beyond a simple yes. Though it appeared at this point Drayden had used up the other’s patience as she started to excuse herself.
”Sure thing lady, thanks for the help,” Drayden started turning to be on his own way before suddenly stopping as though just remembering something.
”Actually, I have one last thing to ask. You’re a girl right…so if someone were to get you a gift, what would you like? Just say the first thing that comes to mind.” It wasn’t often, but the few gifts Drayden had given his sister over the years never seemed to go over well. The best was probably that interesting book that discussed radical ideas for integrating alchemy and mechanics he got her two years ago…according to his sister it apparently made for a great doorstop. So Drayden supposed it wouldn’t hurt to get a second opinion, even if it was the opinion of somebody who clearly wanted to be done talking to him.

When she was stopped...yet again she couldn't help but let out a small sigh and hang her head. Her wings visably drooped; sagging on the ground as she turned back yet again. Normaly a person would have just kept walking and ignored the person...but she had been raised to not give such a rude brush off. Her look of exasperasion quickly was replaced by the same emotionless face. Untill they boys insulting question came to pass. 'Your a girl right?'....Was it really that freaking hard to tell; she had tits did she not? Even when covered with the trench coat you could tell the curves of her body were that of a full grown womans. Her wings which had straightened back up bristled a bit as she shook the dust off them.
On the other note the boy had asked her a question reguarding a gift...was it for a special someone? Relitive? Someone in the city maybe she could launch this boys ass to? Last one was probably to good to be true. Rowan thought seriously for a bit, considering his question as she looked him up and down...if anyone like the boy were to give her a gift she'd know exactly what she'd want.
"The largest bottle of hard liquer they could get there hands on..."
A drink sounded nice; it definatly required a bar trip after this encounter.
"That or earplugs"

Instead of being insulted or feeling angry at the woman’s suggestion, which was clearly directed towards Drayden, instead the young Toreka just laughed good-naturedly. Not sure if he would actually go with that suggestion for his sister, but the answer was amusing enough. If he didn’t know better, he might have thought he was slowly growing on the icy woman.
”Ha well I said someone, not necessarily me, but I guess I’ll take that one. Thanks for the suggestion,” Drayden raised a hand to bid farewell, a slightly stupid grin still on his face. ”Till next time then…” He spoke, truly leaving now as he turned away, placing his hands back in his pockets, and began to walk off. Though it was probably more likely they would not run into each other again, but Drayden couldn’t help but add that last bit…seeing as the woman was so found of him and all.
