Thieves of Nova
Leader: Cassandra Fairchild
Details: The Thieves of Nova is an extremely secretive organization, about which most people know nothing. It's a group of thieves and plunderers that operate with little care for the laws of Nova. Whenever something suddenly goes missing, it's often whispered that the Thieves of Nova were to blame. Their motivation is unknown, and they are not evil, per-se, and they don't seek to dominate the world -- but if you have the goods, people pay a lot for it. A true thief will go to all lengths to obtain those goods.
Rose Court
Leader: Unknown
Details: The Rose Court was once a private group of mercenaries that believed in one thing: "Magic should only belong in the hands of the creator. Any one born with such abilities are abominations and blasphemous against the creators." So a Rose Court Knight devotes him or herself to the cause of tracking, capturing, and prosecuting magic users. Just recently The Rose Court has become more popular in the major city areas. The practice of magic eradication has become more widespread in lieu of recent private donations from Sorein Fairchild.
Alchemist's Guild
Leader: Council-ruled
Details: The Alchemist's Guild is a collaboration of the brightest and most eccentric alchemists in Nova. Centered in the Arch of Ages, a massive tree made into a tower, the Guild is responsible for all governmental research projects and the bulk of scientific advancement over the past 400 years. Founded by Aldrich Torrehn in 1379 as a collaberation of the greatest alchemists in Nova, it's purpose is to archive and pass down the practice of science. Eligibility for joining the Guild is earned by proficiency in any research related to machination or to the pure sciences, acquiring new scientific knowledge, or showing potential to promote the Guild's prestige.
The Army
Leader: Field Marshal Denn Lightfellow
Details: Nova's Army is known worldwide for its sheer strength. The Army's recruits are trained until their skills in fighting surpass those of anyone in Nova, and the Field Marshal's recent initiative has been to increase the strength of every recruit to make them more formidable in hand-to hand combat. Although the Army primarily uses firearms, their more localized foot soldiers and specialized technicians are formidable, and numerous other fighting disciplines are taught. The structure is the same as that of the real-life British Army. All of the Army recruits are volunteers, however, once one volunteers, the contract is binding until the day that the soldier dies. The implications of joining the Army are often not properly understood by the common people of Nova-- the soldiers are trained and fought to within an inch of their lives, and nobody, man or woman, is the same after enlisting as before. People fear the Army, and for good reason.
The Novarian's Guard
Leader: Unknown
Details: The Novarian's Guard is a huge organization, entrusted with the difficult task of keeping the peace in the streets of Novaria. Its members are usually men, however many women also choose to join the Guard. It is composed mainly of warriors and melee fighters, enhanced by the Novarian store of weaponry. The members of the Guard are not only fighters, though; there are medical personnel, and people to perform menial tasks around the Fairchild mansion. The Guard has access to a huge quantity of resources, second only to the Army. Joining is relatively simple -- the Guard always searches for new members, so it's as simple as heading down to the Fairchild mansion and signing up.
The Daemahr
Leader: Unknown
Details: The Daemahr is a smaller organization than the Novarian Guard, but unlike the Guard, the Daemahr is strictly Demori. It's not an easy job -- far from it, in fact -- because the Demori and Freya are in constant 'war' with one another. The Daemahr is equipped with innumerate young male and female Demori, however, recruits are often short-lived. Due to their Captain's near-constant exhaustion, and the strenuous work that being a member of the Daemahr entails, it's no surprise that the Daemahr runs a secret brothel and bar for only trusted Demori VIPs.
